The clock had just struck midnight on New Years Eve 2006. I was anxiously awaiting 2007 because a favorite band of my adolescences was set to play just minutes into the new year. This band was AFI. As I sat a Jace Forsyth's house, I saw them come on stage and then they performed a cover of Blur's Song 2. That would be the last time that I would listen to any of AFI's new music.
It's 10 years later and after our hiatus Jace and I sat down to listen to and discuss AFI's music since their Dememberunderground release in 2006. We talk about Crash Love, Burials and their newest singles that they have released for their upcoming Blood album. We also chatted about AFI's side projects including Blaqk Audio and Xtrmst. We also talk about how are musical tastes have changed for the years as well as if it is even possible for a band to "sell out".
We also take a look at the A Fire Inside Out podcast. If you haven't given this show a listen I would recommend it. Host Ben Hanson and Jeff Cork take a detailed look at every AFI release. They are super informed and very insightful. If you are an AFI fan our would like to know more about the band, I couldn't think of a better way to be introduced than through this podcast. You can check it out here.
I hope you like this episode of the KnowNothing Podcast. I know that we had fun recording it for you. Be sure to subscribe to the podcast and rate and review it.
